About Karen Adelman
I started drawing as a defense against social awkwardness. After having contracted a fever in the Amazon I briefly lost my ability to speak.
It is perfectly socially acceptable to be mute if you are drawing. I found this convenient.
While under cover in this manner I came to enjoy both art making and art. The complexities of the world can be reduced.
I have studied at the San Francisco Art Institute, The Academy of Art University of Berkeley, and New York University.
I like ladies with brooches and hats and shoes and, above all, hairdos.
